BIOGRAPHY
Soprano Wang Tingting is a distinguished artist with a rich musical heritage, having been raised in a family of musicians. Her early exposure to music included performing and touring with the City Children DramaGroup and various school choruses. She began her formal training in Chinese art and folk singing under the guidance of Soprano Xu JiaZhen and Tenor Professor Feng Kang. Her vocal education expanded to Bel Canto singing with National First-Class Soprano Liu Zhaoxiu.
Awarded a prestigious scholarship to the National University of Singapore, Tingting continued her vocal development in Singapore under Korean Soprano Jeong Aeree, Singaporean Tenor Lim Shieh Yih, and renowned Soprano Nancy Yuen. She refined her craft further through masterclasses with Professor Rudolph Knoll of the Salzburg Mozarteum, Catherine Croall of the Scottish Opera House and Juilliard Opera Center, and Rachelle Gerodias of the University of Santo Tomas.
In 2004, Tingting achieved remarkable success at the Singapore National Vocal Competition, securing the championship in the Female Voice category and the first runner-up position in the Overall Category.
Tingting’s operatic accomplishments are extensive. As a regular performer with the Singapore Lyric Opera, Singapore Symphony Chorus, and The Musical Theatre, her notable roles include Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with the Singapore Lyric Opera and Mimi in Operation Opera by The Musical Theatre. She has also contributed to acclaimed productions such as Tosca, Messiah, Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand, John Rutter‘s Magnificat, The Merry Widow, Madame Butterfly, and La Bohème, to name a few. Her dynamic stage presence and ability to convey complex characters have established her as a prominent figure in the operatic scene.
In addition to her success on the opera stage, Tingting is celebrated for her artistry in classical art songs. She is particularly noted for her performances at the Singapore Art Song Festival’s FestaCanzone, where her interpretations demonstrated an exceptional ability to bring linguistic precision and emotional depth to works in multiple languages. Her talent for art song extends beyond festivals; she has performed in numerous recitals across the region, showcasing her versatility and profound connection to the repertoire. Tingting’s dedication to art songs has earned her recognition from local composers, who have entrusted her to premiere their new works in Chinese, further underscoring her role as a champion of contemporary vocal music.

2004年,王婷婷在新加坡全国声乐比赛中表现出色,夺得了女子声乐组冠军,并获得全场总成绩亚军。
